Spicy Hot Chocolate

Spicy Hot Chocolate

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 5
Inspiration: This was so popular at our fall and winter farmers markets that we had to share this simple recipe. This one is great for when you are hosting parties.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 4 cups of milk (we used whole milk, but you can sub with 2% or oat)
  2. 1 cup 100% cacao chocolate chips (can sub in 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 1 tbsp honey
  4. 5-8 tbsp coconut sugar (depending on preference)
  5. 2 tsp cinnamon
  6. 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  7. Spicy Cocktail Infusers (The Classic Infuser)
  8. Optional for garnishing: whipped topping, marshmallow

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix chocolate cacao chips and 1 cup of milk to saucepan and heat over medium heat, occasionally whisking
  2. Add the remaining milk--roughly 1 cup at a time--to saucepan as it heats
  3. Add vanilla extract, honey, cinnamon, and coconut sugar*
    1. *Start with 5 tbsps and add more if you would like it sweeter
  4. Bring to simmer, turn off burner, and pour into coffee mugs
  5. Add Classic Cocktail Infusers to each mug, allowing each individual to customize how spicy they prefer their drink (we recommend 30 seconds of steeping)
